Overview of the (Dot).NET Amarillo Users Group with brief summary on officers (used for our first mail-out).

Mission Statement:

The .NET Amarillo Users Group (DNAUG) represents a localized community of software development professionals, who share a common interest in everything that the .NET paradigm offers. We actively pursue and evaluate best practices, patterns, and architectures for the development and management of software solutions. We get together to foster community, exchange ideas, and explore new trends and technologies.

 

About Jim Kinter (President):

Jim Kinter is the Manager, Information Systems – Application Development for Zachry in Amarillo, TX.  Zachry is an Engineer/Procure/ Construct [EPC] firm based in San Antonio, TX that provides full-service, turn-key power generation and process solutions throughout the world. Jim manages the Application Development activities for the engineering group including custom software solutions, business process consulting, and agile process training/coaching. He blogs about managing software teams and practices that make software delivery reliable, predictable and maintainable.  Jim moved to Amarillo from Dallas in 2005 where he was the CTO for an interactive media firm and managed the development, implementation, and hosting of interactive web applications for a number of Global 1000 firms. After joining Zachry, Jim has focused on implementing best practices, patterns, and software development practices throughout the organization. Some of the solutions implemented include (but are not limited to)  Automated Lifecycle Management, Continuous Integration,  Test Driven Design, Automated Unit Tests, Dependency Injection/Inversion of Control, Agile/Scrum, SharePoint, SQL Server 2005, Windows WorkFlow/WPF/WCF/Silverlight, Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio 2008

About Bill and Diane Kratochvil (Secretary and Treasurer):

Bill and Diane Kratochvil are the owners of Global Webnet, LLC.  Global Webnet has been in business since February of 2000, in 2004 they moved their business from Dallas to Amarillo (to be closer to family).   Bill Kratochvil, a MCAD.NET C#, Architect and Senior Developer has been programming professionally for over 20 years.   Diane Kratochvil, a Professional Videographer/Photographer has over 8 years experience in her profession – please visit http://wwww.Global-webnet.net for more information on Bill and Diane.

 

About Us:

The purpose of the .NET Amarillo Users Group (DNAUG) is to provide an open forum for the exchange of ideas, issues and concerns about the use of .NET frameworks and technologies. The Group shall operate as informally as possible to meet this purpose.

The Group membership shall be open to anyone with an interest in the .NET technology in support of surveying, mapping and information system applications. Membership is open to anyone who attends at least one meeting.

An Executive Leadership Team (ELT) shall be elected from the membership in attendance at the first meeting each year. The ELT shall have the following general responsibilities:

·          setting meeting date, time and location

·          setting the meeting agenda

·          overseeing the general conduct of the meeting

·          working with the  membership to ensure that member concerns are being addressed

 

The ELT will consist of the following positions:

·          Secretary - responsible for keeping the membership listing and minutes of the meetings.

·          Treasurer - responsible for prompt and open attention to all financial matters.

·          President - Responsible for coordinating meetings, speakers, and events. Also promotes the organization and actively pursues corporate sponsorship.

 

Efforts will be made to have guest speakers at the meetings to discuss topics of interest to the general membership.

 

There are no dues nor are there any other formal requirements for membership in the Users Group. If necessary, donations may be requested to cover the costs of copying and mailing information.

At the end of the first year of operation of the Group, a review of these issues will be addressed. Changes, if necessary, will be made based on the wishes of the general membership.

Business at any meeting shall be conducted by those members present. There is no requirement for a quorum. It is expected that any business so conducted will generally be representative of the membership as a whole.
